Welcome Welcome. The Grand Strand Model Railroaders, Inc. exists to further the hobby of model railroading. The club was founded in 1986 above Ed's Hobby Shop in downtown Myrtle Beach, SC with six members. The club is now celebrating its twenty-fifth year. We have grown to nearly forty members who form a diverse group that share their knowledge with each other and visitors. The club is now building three new layouts: HO, N, and O scales at our new home. Come and visit us at our new location inside the Myrtle Beach Mall right next to Bass Pro. Grand Strand Western (GSW) The Grand Strand Western is the name of our club railroad and was chosen as a freelance railroad centered in the Carolinas. The club layouts are currently in design and construction at our new location in the Myrtle Beach Mall. The GSW has trackage rights to all US railroads so you will see a mixture of equipment in operation. Our new layouts will be running both steam and diesel equipment.
